Education System

These are the institutions which are totally dependent on the Accreditation of NZQA. They provide education and generate degrees to students which are verified by NZQA and the standards, quality of education and all is under the monitoring of NZQA in these institutions.

Private Training Providers

All sorts of offbeat education which is profession oriented will be offered by Private Training Providers in New Zealand. These are also under the recognition of NZQA and NZQA is the degree awarding body for the students who study in Private Training Providers. Fields like Painting, Dancing, Art, Aviation education, gospel studies, theology, and hospitality education come under the offerings of Private training Providers.

Undergraduate Education pattern

3 years of bachelor courses for students, where commencement to second year is based on 1st year’s passing and commencement to 3rd year is based on 2nd year’s passing.

Post Graduate Education pattern

Post Graduation in New Zealand has got three types of programs namely Post Graduate Diploma, Graduate Diploma and Master’s Program.

Post Graduate Diploma

1 year program which includes full time study. This requires the pupil to have prior knowledge in the field.

Graduate Diploma

1 year program which includes full time study. This necessarily does not require the pupil to have prior knowledge in the field.

Master’s Program

Master’s program is the more serious version of post graduate diploma; with prior knowledge of the pupil in the respective area of study is necessary and a full time dedication to the curriculum with many activities like theoretical learning, assignments, project works, and seminars included.

Doctorate

Usually the doctoral program in any of the New Zealand’s institutions is of 3 years. The biggest advantage of doctoral program in New Zealand is that students will be exempted from the burden of paying international tuition fee; there will be only one unanimous fee for PhD courses. And also, students are awarded with stipends for their doctoral program which covers majority of their expenses and this is allotted on the basis of academic performance.
